📋Information We Collect
None. Octopus Giggle does not collect any personal information, usage data, analytics, device information, or any other data from you or your child. Period.
📸Photos and Voice Recordings
The app allows you to capture facial expression photos and voice recordings. This data is:
- Stored only on your device in the app's private storage
- Never uploaded to any server or cloud service
- Never shared with us, third parties, or anyone else
- Fully under your control, you can delete it at any time
- Removed completely when you delete the app
🔍Face Detection Technology
Octopus Giggle uses Apple's built-in Vision framework to detect facial landmarks (eyes, nose, mouth positions) for the interactive tap zones. This processing:
- Happens entirely on your device
- Uses Apple's on-device machine learning, not our own AI
- Does not identify, recognize, or store any facial identity data
- Only detects feature positions in photos you've already taken
- Never sends any data to Apple, to us, or to anyone
👨👩👧👦Family Sharing
The app allows family members to export and import face profiles. When a profile is shared:
- The file is sent directly between devices using the iOS share sheet (AirDrop, Messages, etc.)
- We never see, receive, or store shared profiles
- The sharing method is chosen by you and handled entirely by Apple's iOS
- No data passes through our servers because we have no servers
💳In-App Purchases
Octopus Giggle offers a one-time in-app purchase to unlock premium features. All purchase transactions are handled by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect, store, or have access to any payment information.
🍪Cookies and Tracking
The app does not use cookies, tracking pixels, analytics services, advertising identifiers, or any other tracking technology. We do not use any third-party SDKs, libraries, or services that collect data.
🎯 To be absolutely clear: we have no servers, no databases, no analytics dashboards, and no way to access your data even if we wanted to. Your device is the only place your information exists.
👶Children's Privacy
Octopus Giggle is designed for toddlers and preschoolers, used with parental supervision. We take children's privacy extremely seriously:
- We comply with COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act)
- We comply with applicable children's privacy laws worldwide
- We collect absolutely no data from children or adults
- The app contains no advertising, no in-app social features, and no external links (except this privacy policy and our support email)
- The app includes parental controls (child lock) to prevent children from accessing settings
🔄Changes to This Policy
If we ever update this privacy policy, we will post the changes on this page with an updated effective date. Given that we collect no data, we don't anticipate significant changes, but transparency matters to us.
